Risks of Skin Resurfacing

As with all other types of surgical procedures, there are a few risks involved. There may be infection, irregular pigmentation, skin surface texture irregularities, and burns and scarring. Some unusual side effects also include acne and appearance of Herpes Simplex. Nevertheless, the majority of these side effects are temporary in nature.

Another common side effect is darkening of the skin or hypopigmentation. This usually takes place for individuals with darker skin tones. There is also a possibility of deepening, or sometimes a loss of pigmentation within a month of getting surgery. This side effect will most likely continue for three or four months.
